Giovanni Jussi
Giovanni has performed throughout Europe, including Italy, Switzerland, Germany, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. He trained at the Biennial Theatre Arsenal, Milan, and at the University of Theater Scuola teatro Dimitri, Verscio, Switzerland. Following the footsteps of his Clown teachers, Emanuel Pouilly and Claudio Miconi, he delivered himself into the clutches of Philippe Gaulier in 2007 to complete his Master’s degree, during which year he also participated in a workshop with the clown Johnny Melville in Granada, Spain. His interest in movement theatre has lead him to participate in further workshops at the dance school of Milan, C.I.M.D., with the teachers Dominique Dupuis and Franca Ferrari and to undertake an acrobatic course with Walter Zucchi in Milan. This year Giovanni directed the play “Ente, Tod und Tulpe” (TwoF2 Company and dascollectiv. at the Dschungelwien, Vienna). In 2007 he directed clown piece “Il Telediario”, (Granada). Throughout 2007-2008 he performed with Aitherios in “The Fish is Open” (London, Berlin, Iran). Other recent theatre performances include “Bodies in Urban Spaces” directed by Willi Dorner (Vienna, 2008), “Himmel im Bau,” directed by Anne Hirt (Teatro Dimitri, Berlin, 2006) and the solo piece “Il Turno” (Teatro Dimitri, 2006). His recent film credits include the short film/mockumentary: “Superman, where are you” (CineWay, 2008); short film “Edgard in Love” directed by Stefano Piantoni (CineWay, 2008); the feature film: “Body of Lies” directed by Ridley Scott, (Warner Brothers, 2007) and silent short film “Briques Circus” directed by Valérianne Poidevin and Sandro Santoro (2006).
